Bruce Blakeman has been active in law enforcement and homeland security in the New York metropolitan region for almost 20 years. He holds a certificate in Homeland Security Management and currently serves on the faculty of Long Island University as a Senior Fellow in the Department of Homeland Security Studies. Mr. Blakeman is on the board of Crime Stoppers, is Deputy Counsel to the Nassau County Fire Marshall’s Benevolent Association, and is Director of of the New York COPS Foundation. He also holds many honorary titles for NY State, City and Long Island districts. In 2011, Mr. Blakeman was awarded Law Professional of the Year by the NY/NJ Detectives’ Crime Clinic, and is a frequent guest and contributor on FOX News.

Mr. Blakeman has had extensive experience in financial and budgetary matters in both the public and private sector, serving as Commissioner of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Mr. Blakeman previously served as the Presiding Officer (Speaker) of the Nassau County Legislature, as well as Chairman of the Budget Review Committee and Vice Chairman of the Finance Committee. Prior to becoming Presiding Officer of the Nassau County Legislature, Mr. Blakeman was a member of the Hempstead Town Board, Hempstead, NY.

Mr. Blakeman is currently a member of the law firm Abrams Fensterman Fensterman Eisman Greenberg Formato & Einiger located in Lake Success, NY, where his areas of practice include real estate, commercial litigation, transportation, finance and insurance. He was formerly a partner in the law firm of Robert M. Blakeman & Associates. Mr. Blakeman has received Martindale Hubbel’s highest rating, A-V and has been listed in Who’s Who in American Law.
