John “Rick” Capece
John (Rick) Capece served for 37 years with the NCPD, retiring in 2014 as Chief of Detectives. His career included working at the Police academy, Commanding the 1stPct. Gang Unit, Commanding Officer of the First and Fourth Precincts, the Narcotics/Vice Bureau, Chief of Patrol, Chief of Support and Chief of Detectives.
He has also served as President of the Police Holy Name Society and received awards from the Baldwin PTA, Bellmore Chamber of Commerce, Uniondale Civic Association, Roosevelt Chamber of Commerce, Long Island Clergy Task Force, Latino Afro-American Clergy Association, Long Island Clergy Task Force and the Nassau County Explorers.
Rick has spent the last ten years as an Adjunct Professor at Adelphi University in Garden City. He is married for 38 years and has two children and one granddaughter.
